The DACC is actively involved in a range of activities and initiatives. In 2024 we began preparing to undertake a major project: the digitisation of our archival collection. After a year of preparatory work, the digitisation project began in early 2025. This is a significant project and will take several years to complete. In addition to this major project, we:
- Maintain a reference library and archive;
- Are cataloguing our Library Collection in an online catalogue;
- Publish FREE news articles about Dutch Australian history, heritage and culture;
- Maintain an active social media presence;
- Produce a FREE monthly e-newsletter (subscribe on our homepage);
- Are active supporters of musical events, performances, visual arts, film screenings and cultural events;
- Present and host educational talks about Dutch Australian history;
- Curate displays about Dutch events, iconic collections, and about the Dutch migration experience;
- Provide assistance with finding Dutch courses or tutors for lessons in Dutch.
Our past projects have included the DIMEX Project, which was a major survey of the experiences of Dutch migrants to Australia. More information about this project is available here.
