Gain Real-World Experience With Us
At the Dutch Australian Cultural Centre we offer industry placements/internships for university students (international and domestic) with a placement or internship component to their degree.
When you join us as a placement student or intern, you won’t be making coffee and sitting in the corner. Instead, you’ll be doing meaningful work, collaborating with our team and developing skills that your degree alone can’t teach you.
We offer placements/internships across digitisation, multilingual education & research, and archival work, giving you hands-on experience in a supportive workplace. As part of this, you may research and write original articles for publication on our website. Throughout your internship you’ll be mentored by experienced professionals who are invested in your development, and you’ll leave with practical skills that will serve you throughout your career.
As we are a not-for-profit organisation, internships with us are unpaid. Remote work may be possible for some projects. If your degree/course has specific requirements for your internship, let us know – we may be able to create a specific project tailored to your course.
What you can expect:
- A structured placement with clear goals
- A dedicated mentor to guide you throughout
- Exposure to real projects
- A supportive team that values your fresh perspective.
We love working with students: your energy, curiosity and new ideas make our Centre better.
