Moving Home is a large-scale art installation and documentary project that explores
themes of belonging and displacement through the physical relocation of a Queenslander
house from Brisbane, Australia to Eindhoven, The Netherlands. By dissecting the home’s
function as a dwelling, an artefact, and a symbol of white settler identity, the project
engages with contemporary dialogues on colonial legacy, housing accessibility, migration,
and place.
Moving Home will be exhibited during Dutch Design Week 2025 as part of the DDW ‘Grand
Projects in Public Spaces’ Open Call. Following DDW, the project will tour Dutch cultural
institutes before returning to Brisbane as a pavilion of art and design leading up to the 2032
Olympic Games.
The organisation is looking for parties interested to participate in this project.
