The Dutch Australian Cultural Centre (DACC) was officially invited to participate in a memorial service honouring the combined Australian and Allied Air Forces. The event was organised by the Australian Flying Corps (AFC) and the RAAF Association Queensland Division, marking the 105th anniversary of the Royal Australian Air Force and the 106th anniversary of the Association. It took place at the RAAF and Allied Memorial in Queens Park, Brisbane.

The DACC also informed Ingrid Schodel of the event. She represents the children of No. 18 (Netherlands East Indies) Squadron RAAF, one of four Dutch squadrons formed in Australia to support the Allied war effort in the Pacific between 1942 and 1945.

Ingrid delivered a speech at the service, offering a clear and thoughtful overview of the contribution of the Dutch air force during the war (see below).
