The Stichting Emigrantenbelangen (Foundation for Emigrants’ Interests) was founded in 1952 in The Hague, with the aim of providing free advice and assistance to emigrants, in addition to the work of official agencies and confessional emigration centers. The foundation had its central office in Bazarstaat 16 in The Hague.
The foundation issued literature and periodicals for emigrants, such as the Emigranten zakboekje (Emigrants pocketbook), which contained information about various aspects of emigration, such as visas, passports, health, education, housing, employment, social security, etc. The foundation also had a library with books and magazines about different countries and cultures.
The booklet is available at the Koninklijke Bibliotheek (Royal Library) in The Hague, with the signature NL 94 B 1013.
There is an article on the organisation in this newspaper.
The Huygens Institute in the Netherlands has compiled a list of ‘other emigration organisations’. This is their disclaimer.
The data from this list was found when going through the inventories and/or the autopsy of the archives of the archive creators described in the research guide. No further research has been conducted into these organizations. The last column refers to the archive creator/archive in which the information described in the first two columns was found. The list does not pretend to be complete.
