Nico was born on 8 December 1932 at Nijmegen, Netherlands, and migrated to Australia in 1955. On arrival he stayed in the Bonegilla Migrant centre, in 1997 he produced 15 cartoon styled drawings of live as an early migrant in Australia.

He worked as a designer in various positions until 1960 when he was offered a teaching job in the arts.


In 1986-1977 he went to the Gordon Institute of Technology as a lecturer and from 1977-1988 Deakin University.

He retired in 1988 to return to full time painting from his home in Daylesford, Victoria. His work is represented in many private and institutional collections.

Qualifications:Trained Technical Teachers Certificate. Associate Diploma R.M.IT.Melbourne. Post Graduate Certificate Gordon Institute of Technology Geelong. Fellowship Diploma.R.M.I.T Melbourne.
