As of 16 November 2024, all known Dutch organisations in Brisbane—loosely connected under the Dutchlink Brisbane banner—came together for the first time to strengthen connections and get to know each other better. The event was centered around the making of bitterballen.
The Dutch Chamber of Commerce Queensland (DCCQ) and the Borrelclub organised the event. Ralph Vossenberg led the organisation, while Bart Lommerse served as the bitterballen chef, with invaluable support from his wife, Barbara. The Dutch Club kindly hosted the gathering.
During breaks in the bitterballen-making process, each Dutch organisation had the opportunity to introduce themselves to the more than 60 participants.
