Ingrid Huisken is a Dutch-Australian former netball player who had a successful career playing for both Australia and the Netherlands.
She was born on January 16, 1961, in Leiden. Her family migrated to Australia when she was 12 years old in 1973.
Ingrid began her netball career playing for the Bankstown Bruins in Sydney, Australia, and later played for several other teams in both Australia and Europe. She also represented both Australia and the Netherlands in international competition.
Her international career was particularly noteworthy. She played for the Netherlands in the 1984 and 1988 Olympics, winning a bronze medal in 1984. She later switched her allegiance to Australia and played for the Opals in the 1990 World Championship and the 1992 Olympics, winning a bronze medal in 1992.
She was known for her versatility and skill as a player, and she was inducted into the Australian Netball Hall of Fame in 2006. After retiring from playing, she worked as a coach and mentor for young players in Australia.
