Ben Nusteling was a Dutch Australian Australian Rules footballer who was born in Dordrecht, Netherlands, on February 27, 1939. His family immigrated to Australia when he was a child, and he grew up in the Melbourne suburb of Prahran.
Nusteling played for the Prahran Football Club in the Victorian Football Association (VFA) from 1957 to 1970. He was known for his prolific goal-scoring ability, and in 1966, he finished the season as the VFA’s top goal-scorer with 92 goals.
In total, Nusteling kicked 664 goals in his VFA career, which is still the third-highest total in the history of the league. He was also a five-time Prahran leading goal-kicker and represented the VFA in interstate matches.
After retiring from football, Nusteling worked as a postman and later owned a successful retail business. He passed away on August 4, 2014, at the age of 75.
